Life wants to give me a message
Each day when I open my eyes
To see with a vision of faith, hope and love
And choose truthfulness instead of lies.
What a pilgrimage full of temptation
Of sights and of sounds and of sins
That leads me to embrace the folly about me
Instead of the Spirit within.
But we have a merciful Father
And Shepherd of all that He made
Who leads us in the end by the virtue He left us
And by the Cross that for our sins He paid.
So I wake up to the passion each morning
That tears at my mind, soul and heart
And leaves me a wandering, vagrant and poor
Adrift but not alone or apart.
