Drowning Light

In good faith I went with the tide

Taking prejudice, punishment and pride

With my heart and my soul open wide

Finding death in the place of my life.

Yes, the waters ran silent and ran deep

And my strength seemed to grow weary and turn weak

And it was all I could do just to keep my wits and my wisdom in sight

Amidst a current that had continuously flowed

Over all of the hope I had stowed

For in the end, when in survival mode,

I looked for a new heaven to take flight

To Love, to the battle always there

In the heat, in the water, in the heart, in the air

It’s the only thing left as the cure for despair

Finding Love joined with Peace and with Light.
